What To Expect
For home visits, when I arrive I’ll take a few moments to set up the massage table. Ideally the space for the massage should be as warm as possible to help you relax and stay comfortable for its duration. I’ll bring an extra heater in case its needed. Once I’m set up we’ll have a quick chat about the massage and what you hope from it and a sense of how your body is feeling on the day.
Lomi-Lomi is traditionally received naked, a sarong is used to cover the intimate areas at all times while leaving the rest of the body free for Lomi-Lomi’s flowing strokes. If you feel more comfortable with underwear on that’s absolutely fine but do be aware they will likely get oil on the sides.
Once we begin, allow yourself to relax and enjoy. There may be some gentle stretches and movements of limbs, strokes that go under the body and around, energy work and chants. Always let me know if there is any discomfort but otherwise simply let go into the sensations and feelings of aloha!
Contraindications
Let me know if you have any medical conditions or chat to your GP first to make sure you’re clear for a massage. The following are some examples of conditions where I wouldn’t be able to provide a massage.
Fever
Contagious disease
Blood clots
Pregnancy
Kidney or Liver conditions
Cancer
Diabetes with complications
